THE TOP 5 REASONS TO BELIEVE IN THE HOLY BIBLE AND TO STUDY ITS WORDS

No other book in the entire world is as old, as trustworthy and as comprehensive as the Holy Bible. There are many reasons to believe in its teachings about God, mankind, and the future.

Here are the Top 5 Reasons to believe in the words of the Bible:

1. Millions of people throughout history have been changed dramatically for the better through reading, studying, and believing in the Holy Bible. Not only does its words give people valuable information about what happened in the past, the Bible gives guidelines for living in the present moment while providing encouragement and hope regarding mankind’s future. Its teachings show how to find forgiveness, peace and happiness in the present life, as well as provide the way to eternal life full of glory, delight and joy in the presence of God who created us and truly loves us. The Bible provides answers to many of our sincere questions about God, His marvelous works about the world and mankind, which cannot be found anywhere else.

2. The Holy Bible has been the most influential book in the history of the world. It was the first book ever printed and has been translated into more languages than any other book. It is also more widely distributed than any other book in history. Moreover, despite every attempt to destroy it, God has preserved its text. There are more ancient copies of the Bible (or parts thereof), so people can have complete confidence that the Bible today is essentially unchanged from the first time it was written and compiled over 3,500 years ago. No other ancient text is like it.

3. The Holy Bible is compiled of 66 different texts (books) that were written over a period of about 1,500 years by 40 different men who lived on 3 different continents. However, each part of the Bible, if properly understood, agrees with all the other parts. The writers of the Bible truly believed and taught that their writings were the authentic Word of God. Moreover, Our Lord Jesus Christ, who is respected and trusted by more people than anyone who has ever lived on this earth, also truly believed and taught that the Bible is indeed inspired by God. Note: The Catholic Bible has 73 books and the Orthodox Bible has 79 books. All Protestant, Catholic, and Orthodox Bibles contain the same canon of 27 books for the New Testament; they only differ in the number of books accepted for the Old Testament.

4. Scholars have studied carefully archeological findings and other historical materials which confirms the accuracy of the Holy Bible. This includes its teachings on geography and history. Although it is very old, the Bible is clearly very trustworthy about everything it records as a historical document.

5. The Holy Bible contains many prophecies regarding individuals, nations, and very specific events. Many of these predictions have been fulfilled already and exactly as they were foretold. For example, there are over 350 separate prophecies about Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Old Testament books of the Bible, which were foretold at least 400 years in advance before He lived. Moreover, 33 separate prophecies were fulfilled by Jesus during the last 24 hours of His life – the brutal passion and His agonizing death on the Cross. Hence, since many of prophecies found in the Bible have been fulfilled already in the past, it is safe to also trust what the Bible predicts and teaches about the future.
